Nikolai grew up a good, obedient boy, but early on he lost his mother and father. Therefore, most of his life he did not know parental warmth.
He did not know the need for anything: his parents left him all their wealth.
Three sisters lived next door to Nikolai - beautiful, hard-working girls.

And somehow Nikolai heard the neighbors' conversation that these girls could not get married. Nobody wanted to marry non-dowries.
- How so? - thought Nikolay. - I live well, I have everything, and people are suffering nearby! Why do I alone need so much wealth when someone cannot be happy?
Late at night, when the whole city was asleep and had dreams, Nikolai made his way to the house where the girls lived and chimney threw three bags of gold.
