Pumpkins for kids. Biology for children is a fascinating and accessible academic discipline if studied with real examples. At the same time, classes must necessarily be in the nature of a game, the practical part is built in such a way that the child can perform it himself.

Biology for kids becomes interesting after experiments such as. We suggest trying to explore the life cycle of a pumpkin as a game for the development of toddlers.

It is best to start the experiment with the removal of a pumpkin seed from its fruit.

At the same time, you can tell the child that many plants bear fruits that are divided into two groups: and vegetables.

Inside the fruits there are seeds from which new plants appear.

Let the child get some pumpkin seeds.

At the same time, we hang a sign with the word “seed” on the board, pay attention to its meaning.

Then we propose to plant our seeds in the soil. We explain why this is necessary (the soil is a source of nutrition). We tell you what other factors are needed in order for the seed to grow: water, heat. The source of heat is sunlight. We put the pot with the seed in a bright place, water it. We expect shoots within a few days. After the sprout appears, we explain to the child that now our pumpkin is called "seedling", we fix a sign with this word on the board.

We transplant the sprouted pumpkin into open ground or a large box. We observe the plant, water it. When the shoot becomes long enough, we explain to the child that now it is called "vine". In the classroom, we fix a sign with this term.

When the pumpkin blooms, we consider the structure of the flower, explain its purpose. We post a new table, with the word "flower".

After the appearance of the fruits, we talk about the fact that these fruits are still unripe, green. On the board is a sign "green pumpkin".

Circle

"Entertaining Biology"

for children 4 - 5 years old.

Explanatory note

Preschool childhood is the initial stage in the formation of the human personality. During this period, the foundations of personal culture are laid. The main goal of environmental education is the formation of the principles of ecological culture: the correct attitude of the child to nature, his environment, to himself and people as part of nature, to things and materials of natural origin that he uses. This attitude is based on elementary knowledge of an ecological nature.

Ecological knowledge is information about the relationship of specific plants and animals with the environment, about their adaptability to it. This knowledge helps the child to comprehend that there are living beings next to him, to which the person belongs, that is, he himself. A person also needs good conditions so that he feels normal and healthy. The knowledge of an ecological nature also includes elementary information about the use of natural resources by people, about the protection of nature.

Environmental education is a new direction in the pedagogy of preschool childhood, which differs from the traditional familiarization of children with nature and environmental activities of preschool institutions.

Ecological education of preschoolers can be viewed as a process of forming a consciously correct attitude of children to the objects of nature with which they are in direct contact. This attitude includes intellectual, emotional and action components. Their combination constitutes the moral position of the child, which manifests itself in various forms of his independent behavior.

The environmental problem is one of the most acute problems of our time. The future of mankind depends on the level of ecological culture of each person, his competent participation in their decision. Under these conditions, environmental education in all its links becomes a priority.

The relevance of environmental education today is obvious. There are many troubles for the Earth and for nature:

    nuclear fires,

    erosion,

    soil salinization,

    diseases,

    temptation,

    pollution,

    desertification.

One of the directions for introducing children to the study of nature and the plant world is the "Entertaining Biology" circle. It is aimed at a more in-depth knowledge of the plant world, its significance for human life,development of children's interest in all living things, nature, enrichment of knowledge about the relationships between natural phenomena, education of respect for nature, the ability to admire its beauty, familiarization of children with various activities in nature, protection and care of plants, development of an initial benevolent and careful attitude to everything alive. circle fforms the inner position of a person who is able to understand the complex nature of the environment, to perceive, to know nature itself, to correctly realize one's place in it.

Knowledge of plant life allows each child to be an active participant in the transformation of the surrounding plant world.

The program is designed for children of middle preschool age.

The club sessions are held in the afternoon in the form of a 300-minute session, once a week.

The results of the knowledge gained by the children attending the circle are checked at the final lesson.

Program content

The circle program includes entertaining material about plants, problem-search activities; forms practical environmental skills in the use of plants; introduces methods of care and reproduction.

The objectives of the circle program:

    give children ideas about the structure of plants and its seed;

    to acquaint with the varieties of the plant world;

    introduce the microscope and its work;

    give knowledge of how and what the plant feeds on;

    to give knowledge that the sun, air and water are the main components of plant life;

    introduce indoor plants and their varieties;

    introduce medicinal herbs and berries;

    give ideas about exotic trees and their fruits;

    introduce mushrooms and the conditions necessary for their growth;

    to acquaint with the vegetation of the Volga region;

    to acquaint with the "Red Book of the Volga Region" and the plants included in it;

    develop curiosity, research activities in conducting experiments, the ability to analyze, compare, expand creative potential.

The tasks are carried out in the block of joint and individual activities outside the classroom, in the classroom for the development of speech in the section "Introduction to the outside world", as well as in work with parents.
