Exhibition of Soviet graphics of 50s-70s “Mother’s youth”
Within the framework of the program “Culture territory of Rosatom”: There are works of Soviet artists of 50s-70s of the past century in the exposition. Exhibit presents water colors, authors’ lithographies, prints and calligraphic etchings, workis in the tempera technique… According to organizers the works of the artists “absorbed the spirit of the Soviet time”. The exhibition is interesting for people of older generation and young people as well. Ones can go back to their childhood and youth, others – will open new edges of the youth epoch of their parents. Exposition incorporates the works of 23 artists who belong to different generations and schools but they are knit by one thing – they were creating in the Soviet epoch. The selection of works seems casual only at the first sight – there are landscapes, portraits, genre scenes here. In effect the exhibition is dedicated to one theme – life of a person full of selfless work, happy work with a feeling that is needed by society. This all matches with a concept of “socialist realism”. It must be said that a time line presented on the exhibition “Mother’s youth” was the time of formation of Soviet nuclear industry which required from people creative work, commitment and sometimes even self-sacrifice. Therefore such exhibition in the cities which have enterprises of nuclear industry looks like an attempt to comprehend own beginnings, review the culture background where scientific-and-technical thought was developed. Thus appearance of the exhibition “Mother’s youth” within a framework of the program “Culture territory of Rosatom” is well-formed and supports the idea of continuity of scientific-and-technical progress and culture.
